Could someone tell me please, why on earth the brake bad wear indicator on the dash board has come on, because on inspection of the pads they are only half worn and have plenty of life left in them. Is this a poly by ford for us to part with our hard earned cash when have no need to.

As NikpV said, mine was a faulty dash.

But you need to check all your pads as I understand that only 1 pad at each end of the carl has a sensor, if you have a sticking calliper then one pad will wear out first.

My warning came on again some time after the dash was replaced but this time (after 2 trips to the garage) it turns out it was one of the rear pads at fault. There is nothing more annoying than that beeeeeeeep followed by a warning symbol.

meant to say sensor is nearside on front, offside on rear they look both the same connection but rear did not look corroded, could be the recent floods have taken their toll
